Text Effects
Here are some pretty reliable text effects using javascript and links to where you can get them.
This one is usually called the neon effect. It seems to work in all browsers. It is currently capable of displaying a base color and one rewrite color. Variables include color, rewrite speed & timeout.
This effect is called Text Fade. A java driven HTML generatror produces the HTML for this display. The generator is a good tool for quickly determining subtle & smooth color transitions.

This one is called Text-Blinker. Variables include Color Transitioning, Speed & Interval. Below we slow & smooth the blink interval by adding a lot of color variations. You also need to delete the <center> </center> tags if you're using CSS for positioning. Opera & IE only; Mozilla ignores this effect, showing only default text.
This one is called Colour Text Cycler. Variables include Color Transitioning, Direction & Interval. You can make the interval appear to vary by adding or subtracting colors. Unacceptable flickering with early Firefox, but Firefox 1.5 (currently Beta) works fine as do Opera, IE & Mozilla 1.0. ~ Better keep this on on the shelf until the early Firefox becomes passe.
This one is called Fade Effect. Variables include Color Transitioning, & Interval. Script activated on page load. Press your Browser's Refresh buttom for new activation.
